Urgent Covid Relief for India

Our co-founders just returned from a weeklong trip to India, a week earlier than originally planned due to the Covid surge there. Here is what Mel writes about their trip:

During our time in India, we experienced the sobering realities of the pandemic firsthand. We are home safe, but we are hurting for our communities and friends. We need your help.

Individuals in our communities are facing illness with little to no access to hospitalization or care. We have sent funds and will continue to raise for healthcare supplies and wage and food security, as hunger is already affecting some of the more rural villages we work in.

We’ve collaborated with US and Indian medical professionals to develop preventive protocol, as well as detailed instructions on at-home care for those who contract the virus and won’t have access to hospitalization. We have been able to circulate that information to our entrepreneurs and their communities and are on the phone daily to encourage our leaders and support our team.

Anxiety and chaos are present, as you can imagine. Please pray that amidst the chaos, fear and loss, our team will cling to truth, remain calm and act with great wisdom.

Please consider giving toward this cause. We will be raising $45,000 USD immediately, which will cover medical supplies as well as wage and food security for approximately 120 employees and their families for the next 60 days. Here are some of the ways we will be able to provide support:

  • face masks and shields

  • oximeters

  • vitamins

  • Covid tests

  • on-call medical professionals for at-home consulting

  • wage security during lockdown

  • food security

  • vaccinations for employees and up to 10 family members (beginning May 1)
