How One Man Supports His Village Through the Pandemic
Meet Surendher. We recently interviewed him regarding the situation in his village, so you could hear directly how it is affecting vulnerable communities like his, all over Asia. He was so thankful to share his story with you:
Surendher has been a part of the JoyCorps community for nearly eight years. After helping grow Dehradun Guitar Company, Surendher moved with his wife, Mamta, and two children back to their hometown. They felt led to be a beacon of light in their community.
Surendher is currently part of our first Incubator cohort, employing farmers and local millers to create one of Rajastan’s first organic grain businesses, Choudhary Mills. He exemplifies redemptive entrepreneurship, choosing to make personal sacrifices in order to serve his community through his venture.
We at JoyCorps continue to be humbled and inspired by Surendher’s compassion for the marginalized. His venture is a beautiful example of what it means to use business as a tool to bless people and renew culture. We are privileged to be walking alongside of Surendher in his journey.
It was your generous partnership that enabled Surrendher to purchase his first equipment and kick-start his business. He has hopes for continued scale and growth, in order to employ hundreds in his community.
THANK YOU to those of you who have donated to our COVID-19 relief fund. Because of your giving, we’ve been able to raise funding for many of our fellows, like Surendher, and their communities. If you feel led to help us continue providing wage and food security to the communities where we live and work, please do so here:
